The order is placed. Now the real work starts.

Fulfilment, payment checks, courier updates, returns and refunds all hang off one order. We build the tools around your store so those teams work from the same history.

Most online stores don't need a new storefront.

Take a brand selling on its own website and on two marketplaces. The checkout works. What doesn't is everything after it: orders exported to a sheet for the warehouse, courier status checked on three portals, cash-on-delivery remittances matched by hand, and returns handled in a support inbox where nobody can tell whether the refund has gone out.

Shopify, WooCommerce and most hosted platforms handle selling well and expose APIs for the rest. So our first question is what your platform already supports, and whether a focused integration or internal tool closes the gap. A rebuild is for cases where the business model itself doesn't fit — a marketplace, unusual pricing, or a subscription the platform can't express.

Change the part that's broken, and keep what works.

One partial return, two ways.

Spread across tools

A customer sends back one item from a three-item order. Support logs it in the helpdesk, the warehouse notes it on a sheet when the parcel lands, finance refunds it from the payment gateway dashboard, and the store still shows the whole order as delivered.

  • Item-level history lives in four places
  • Refunds are hard to match to the original payment
  • The customer chases support for news
With a connected record

One order, every team

The return opens against the specific line item. When the warehouse marks it received and inspected, a refund is proposed from the original payment, finance approves it, and the customer sees each step. The other two items stay delivered.

  • Return reason and condition kept per item
  • Refund tied to the original transaction
  • Customer updates triggered by real events
Weigh these first

Questions that decide the scope.

01

Which system owns the order?

If the store platform, a marketplace and an ERP all hold order data, one has to be the record the others follow. Choosing it early stops two systems arguing over status.

02

What counts as delivered?

Courier events differ by partner. Mapping each courier's statuses to yours keeps customer messages honest, including failed attempts and return-to-origin.

03

Who approves a refund?

Some refunds can go through automatically and others need a check. Writing the rules down by reason, amount and payment method makes the workflow predictable.

04

How do payouts reconcile?

Gateway settlements, COD remittances and marketplace payouts arrive on different schedules, and matching them to orders is slow manual work. See payments and billing.

From review to a working tool.

01 · REVIEW

Read the APIs

We study your store platform, courier and payment integrations, plus the exports your team relies on, and note what can be automated.

02 · MODEL

Agree the order record

Order, line item, shipment, return and refund, with the identifiers that link them across every system involved.

03 · BUILD

Ship the narrowest useful tool

Often a returns and refunds console, or an order view that pulls courier status in. Your team tests it on live orders.

04 · MANAGE

Keep it running

Platforms change their APIs and couriers rename their statuses. We maintain the integrations after launch and add the next workflow when you're ready.

Can you work with our current store platform?

Usually, yes. We check its APIs, webhooks and app options against the change you want, and tell you plainly if a limitation there makes the plan unrealistic.

Can you build a marketplace from scratch?

We can. Seller onboarding, commissions, payouts and disputes each need their own planning, so we scope them separately from the buyer-facing store.

Do you handle our marketing and SEO too?

Not as part of this work. For website content and search, ask about SmartMM, our managed service.
